A new community leisure destination is coming to Shawfair, with a Proposal of Application Notice submitted to Midlothian Council for a tennis and padel centre at Whitehills, Whitehill Road, Millerhill.
The proposed development would bring an accessible and affordable tennis and padel facility to the area, complemented by a café/bar, gym and retail units, all set within a landscaped setting with dedicated car and cycle parking. The centre would be a natural fit for Whitehills – the emerging commercial destination adjacent to Fort Kinnaird, where Arnold Clark and Eastern Western Motor Group are already confirmed as future occupiers.
A public exhibition giving local residents and the wider community the opportunity to view and comment on the proposals will take place on Thursday 11th June at Danderhall Community Hub from 16:00–19:30. We’d encourage everyone with an interest to come along, explore the plans and share their thoughts before a formal planning application is submitted to Midlothian Council.
