Community In Action
Shawfair LLP has a long-standing commitment to the communities around the masterplan. Well before the Community Fund was established, support was already being given to local organisations, events and individuals across Danderhall, Newton, Millerhill and wider Midlothian.
Launched in 2025, the Shawfair Community Fund brings this work together, providing a clear and dedicated way to support local groups and community activity.
The Shawfair community fund
The Shawfair Community Fund supports projects that bring people together and improve everyday life in and around Shawfair. It is backed by contributions from Bellway Homes, Cruden Homes, Mactaggart & Mickel, Dundas, Miller Homes, Robertson Homes and Shawfair LLP.
Local groups and individuals are encouraged to get in touch with ideas. Whether it’s a youth project, arts initiative, environmental scheme or wellbeing activity, if it benefits the community, it will be considered.

Danderhall & District Community Council – Easter 2025
Supported litter-picking equipment and Easter activities, bringing families together while caring for the local environment.
Chris’s House – Walk of Hope – May 2025
Helped provide refreshments for this important mental health and suicide prevention event.
Millerhill Community Hub Café – April 2025 to March 2026
Ongoing support for this volunteer-run café, which reinvests its income into inclusive local activities and events.
The Base (Midlothian) – October to December 2025
Three months of support helped keep this valued youth club running, covering core costs and creating positive experiences for local young people.
